Typogridphy is a development from Harry Roberts, a front-end developer from the United Kingdom.

About Harry

Harry Roberts is an 18 year old front-end developer currently residing in Leeds. Since age 16 Harry has become enthralled with the web, feeding his own passion for standards compliant development by reading around the subject extensively, and ditching old-hat techniques as soon as better alternatives arrive. It is this attitude to work that has allowed Harry to stay in front of the crowd, flying the flag for accessible development wherever possible.

This ethos is also to thank for Harry’s first real break into the web industry. After several freelance projects, local digital marketing agency Keyclicks got in touch with Harry with an offer of contractual employment as front-end developer and web designer, leaving him with a position in an agency where he held the leading knowledge on accessibility and web standards.

Other Stuff

When not coding up websites, Harry can be found doing any of a number of things — the majority of which are based from home. Basketball being one of his longest established pastimes, it is not unlikely to find his 6”4’ frame leaping around the court like a man possesed.
If not there he is probably at the pub. With a keen tongue for real ales, and more recently Kopparberg’s Swedish Pear Cider, it’s Harry’s home-from-home.

About Typogridphy

Conception

Typogridphy was concieved when I was developing a typographically perfect, grid based site. It became apparent that it wasn’t that easy, and nowhere was there a pre set stylesheet for the sole purpose of typograhical developments.

It was at this point that I decided to release the CSS once the site was built — as a way to share what I’d learned, and also to try and get a bit of recognition in a hugely competetive industry.

Features

Typogridphy provides a comprehensive way to style grid based layouts and apply typographical flow to web pages.

It has the ability to first reset browser default styles in order to create more consistent cross-browser styling. It also utilises a little used method of sizing — by using ems the layout is zoomable, allowing it to be resized to fit a variety of screen resolutions. Try holding your Ctrl key and scrolling your mouse wheel.

Use

Typogridphy is ideally suited to front-end developers with an intermediate+ knowledge of CSS. It can be used to craft structured grid based layouts using strong typography, including the use of typographical flow.

Although integration with existing sites is possible, it is recommended that Typogridphy is implemented on new builds in order to iradicate any style clashes and previous settings which may interfere with Typogridphy.
