As of 6 February, 2010, I have been without my iPhone. It’s been
unbelievably difficult for me, as a web developer and geek, to
properly function without it. You do not realise how reliant
everyone is upon technology until you lose it. Unsurprisingly it is
really quite hard going from having the whole internet at your
call and fingertips, to going to a big, archaic pre-iPhone piece
of rubbish. If this experience taught me one thing though, I am
very dependent on technology, simply just to wile away the time;
even sat in bed, my iPhone was a major part of me seeing what
revelations the web had in store.

Moving forward is holding us back
March 2nd, 2010
For years, web developers have been looking forward to that next feature, that new and monumental shift which has allowed them to break away from the shackles of obsolescence and adopt new and forward thinking technologies. Moving forward is holding us back.

iPhone CSS—tips for building iPhone websites
January 31st, 2010
With the rapid rise in mobile browsers, it has probably never been more important to ensure your sites can be handled on these platforms. By far one of the most popular such browsers is Mobile Safari on the iPhone—this is one of the easiest browsers to develop for: it runs on Webkit (meaning a lot of rich CSS3 support) and it’s only ever on one resolution and on one OS.
N.B. This article addresses iPhone development and iPhone development only. There is no reason why you cannot or should not develop for other mobile devices and platforms, Apple or otherwise. This just happens to be an iPhone only post.
The practical upshot of this is that you need to do no cross-browser testing, and can use all the CSS3 you like. This post will show you some of the basics of developing and designing websites for the iPhone and Mobile Safari.

Snow in Leeds
December 18th, 2009
Last night in Leeds it started snowing! I love snow… it’s just a real shame that we don’t get it enough of it any more. On the way into work Suze and I saw some nice photo opportunities but as she didn’t have her camera on her we she missed out. We did however get a few nice iPhone snaps once we’d got into the centre of town just before work:
A little tilt-shift one I got:
